I have played this guitar almost every day I have owned it and I will be sad to see it go. It is far from thrashed, but it definitely hasn't been left under the bed since being bought. This guitar is 7 years old and has been played for 7 years, so all the minor bumps and knocks have been earned. The guitar is nearly as good as any American Strat you can get at the moment. It was designed to be a playing man’s Strat, but it turned into something completely different. It’s not the best sounding one, but the value for the money ratio is off the charts. There are 2 main dings I feel I should highlight which are both situated on the back of the body one being a small v shaped ding no more than 1mm deep the second being a small chip of the paint less than 5mm in size. Fender Highway 1 is one of the best Stratocaster models Fender has ever built. Most forum and online reviews I have seen seem to back my opinion up and give this guitar a great rating.The guitar is ready to play, it may need the action tweaking to personal preference as I have previously experimented with different gauge strings in the past, but this is easily sorted with the turn of a small allen key. It has great tone for such a modern guitar too. The Highway One pick ups sound great played loud, but can also pull their weight with subtler sounds. I play a wide variety of music through a Marshall stack and the guitar performs amazingly. It definitely feels like a high end guitar, and the satin finish gives it a classic look. The guitar has a 3 colour sunburst satin finish with gives it a really great look and feel, especially on the neck where I find a some guitars tend to get 'sticky' when played. A lovely guitar that is beautifully made, has many versatile sounds and plays great.
